EQUINE NUTRITION
While having lots of consultations when the patient was clearly in a “wrong” diet, not because it was wrong, but it wasn't for them, I ended up studying this amazing path in my career, so then I could help from inside out and the horses would be at their best to show what they can do... For instance, an athletic horse can be under many different diets, but only few will be able to bring his best performance. Same for pleasure, riding, show horses etc. It must be balanced, and specially designed for that horse in particular, so they can perform and they do not get affected by the excess/deficiency of nutrients which is the most common scenery. Saying this, by the time the horse can show that something isn't right usually it's already been happening for a longer time, and sometimes that can really affect the outcome for some “wrong” nutrition associated pathologies. My work consists in the planning, designing and performing of a horse's diet. And with this it also comes periodically checks, and maybe some tests so we can confirm that we are on the right path. Any horse, no matter what his job/exercise is, can be affected in a positive or in a negative way by the diet he consumes daily, and it is often very clear the amazing results that a good balanced diet for this horse can do. And I'm here to help… Here is a great video to understand the basics of a horse's digestive system.
